Research Task - photographic processing laboratories

ProAm Imaging

ProAm imaging is the first photographic processing laboratory that I have found in Bradford. I have decided to use this one, as I have used it quite a lot now. ProAm also gives us an opportunity to create our own photo albums from different kinds of occasions at low price, and they also look really interesting. The price of developing is only £1.99 and with a CD is only £1 more. Printing the images from negatives is also very cheap, all around £5, depending on size and amount of images. I have found their website very interesting as well as helpful. It is nicely organized and easy to use. We can get a lot of information as well as all of the details if we want to print our photos.
  • Film
Film processing is also available at ProAm. All sizes of C41 process films can be developed and the most popular formats like 35mm can be printed in a traditional way. Other sizes can be scanned first and then printed. They also offer us, after developing the negatives, scanning them to CD and supplied us with print.

  • Digital
ProAm offers high digital quality print for keen amateur as well as professional photographers. They have been doing this for nearly three decades now, which means a lot of people can trust them and they are the UK's favourite professional photo lab. Their clients include - photography students, school photographers, wedding as well as portrait and fashion photographers, industrial and commercial photographers and everyone else who need top quality prints. The prices in ProAm are really good, for example 10" x 8" is only 50p or an 5" x 4" is 10p. They also do deliveries all around UK within 24 hours. It is really easy to order prints as well prepare them for printing in the lab. It is easy to get them prepared as on the website they give us step by step as well as a lot of different kinds of advises. With ProAm you can get your digital photos printed within 1 hour or 24 hours.

CC Imaging

I have also found another photographic laboratory in Leeds. I really like their website, as it gives us an overview of what they do, and how they do it. It doesn't say much about them, but overall I think they're quite expensive. But they have a lot more to chose from than ProAm.

  • Film
Film developing and processing is still a popular thing in cc imaging in Leeds. They give us a lot of choices to chose from when processing or printing negatives. First of all, we have the opportunity to develop the film, colour as well as b&w films can be developed. The cost of developing is around £6, depending on the film. On their website we can see what chemistry they use for each kind of films. They also give us an overwiew of what it looks like, so we have the idea of what they're doing.  They also offer us hand black and white as well as colour printing in the darkroom. But this cost a lot more, as one print of size 10" x 8" cost £10. They have few different kinds of paper to chose from, as well as different kinds of offer packages.

  • Digital
Digital printing of images has a lot of choices. We can have different kinds of paper, size etc. Print's are from 10p, which is a similar price to ProAm. The prize all depends on the size of the pictures as well as the amount, because if you wan to print more then they come out a little it cheaper for each photo. They also give us a lot of different kinds of examples like printing pictures on t-shirts, mugs, calendars and any other photo related books etc.
